Dishes that one can try
The local cuisine of Durg has a high influence of traditional Chattisgarh recipes and the local tribal way of cooking. It is indeed a combination of both. When one is looking for food delivery in train, the most common dish that is available here is rice and curd. Other dishes like Muthiya (rolls are made with rice and white sauce) and buttermilk are very famous here. The regular thalis include Urad Dal, rice, a vegetable made of Papaya and Chutney. But the main attraction of this place is Mahua; a drink made of creamy and white fruit, which is extracted from a local tree.
It is a very good idea to take a short break from regular hectic life and pay a visit to this place, which is famous for the scenic beauty and the old temples and structures. One can enjoy a peaceful holiday in Durg with family and friends.
