In today's high-stress world, we all need to find ways to get along. When a loved one turns to drugs or alcohol to cope, they are heading down the wrong path. If they can't find their way back, you may need to act for them. Making the decision to place your loved one in a substance abuse facility is never easy, but it may save their life.
I've been there. When he hit rock bottom, my brother was endangering his life, and mine as well. It seemed like I was always rescuing him from one situation or another, and it was exhausting. Finally, I gave him an ultimatum; if he got in trouble again, I would let the law deal with the problem. He had to choose between going to drug rehab and going to jail. Fortunately, he made the right choice in the end; he agreed to be placed in a substance abuse treatment program. I had been researching addiction treatment near Dallas for a few months. I wanted to find a home away from home for my brother. He didn’t need a hospital; he really just needed a peaceful oasis where he could get help to beat his addiction. When I found The Ranch at Clear Springs, I knew I’d found the right place. The Ranch is located about 90 minutes outside of Dallas, but it couldn't be further from the stress of city life.
The Ranch definitely has a rustic feel but the facilities are completely modern. It's so beautiful that I look forward to visiting my brother in recovery. I can’t think of a better place for him to be. The Ranch has everything: a large dining hall, a buffet style cafeteria, an activity room to gather for social occasions, a peaceful outdoor setting and even an outdoor café so you can enjoy your morning coffee with a peaceful sunrise. There are also miles of paved walkways that encourage residents and guests to get out and enjoy the air.
This is almost like a vacation; I wouldn't be surprised if my brother wanted to stay there forever. Staying there might be nice, but the real focus is getting him ready to come home, and The Ranch has an excellent professional support team dedicated to that purpose. If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction, I highly recommend The Ranch.
