Tips for Buying Wedding Shoes

wedding-shoesIt’s that time of the year again when thoughts turn to wedding bells and honeymoons in the sun. This of course, means there’s a ton of planning ahead which includes finding the perfect dress, a superb venue and so much more. Once the major things are sorted, then it’s time for those all important details that make the day even better, it’s time to find the right designer wedding shoes to go with that gorgeous wedding dress!

Shopping for shoes is fun at the best of times, so when it comes to finding a pair for that big day, it gets even better. There are some fabulous ideas out there and depending on the theme you’ve chosen for your wedding, you’re bound to find a design that suits your style, character and dress.

Hedge your Bets

Think about buying one pair of wedding shoes to wear for the ceremony, and a second pair to wear at the reception. Remember, you’re going to be on your feet for a long, long time which means bridal shoes have to be comfortable. If you’ve fallen in love with one pair that you know might be hard on your feet if worn for too long, or maybe they would be totally impractical to dance in, you don’t have to be put off buying them because you can wear them in the ceremony and then change into a more comfortable second pair when the dancing begins.

Where to Find the Perfect Pair

When it comes to finding the perfect pair (or two) of wedding shoes, by far the best place to start your search in on the Internet. Browse through a few online wedding magazines to get inspiration and then click onto a few online shoe retailers to see what’s on offer.

With the spring and summer collections now well ensconced on the shelves, you’ll find lots and lots of stylish wedding shoes with lots of different designs, heels and a fantastic selection of colours too. In fact this season there are some superb colours that take brides away from the traditional ivory, white and cream.

Try Before You Buy

If you’re looking to buy a couple of pairs from an online retailer that you have never purchased shoes from before, make sure you get the sizes right. Not all shoes manufacturers turn out shoes the same size. The size six of one retailer could fit you like a glove, yet if you purchase a six from someone else, the shoes could be too small or too big. If you can find the exact same pair in a shop - then try them on to make sure you get the right size. However, if you know you can get a better deal online, then try the shop ones on but buy them from the online store.

Comfort & Style Can Work

If you’re clever you don’t have to sacrifice style and looks for comfort when you choose bridal shoes. There are some beautiful styles around which may not be that comfortable to wear all day and night, but which would be perfect to wear just for the ceremony. A quick change into more comfortable but just as stylish bridal shoes before the reception is the perfect solution.
