SSC CGL Exam 2016 – Complete Overview

Staff Selection Commission conducts the combined graduate level exam recruitment to various posts in Ministries / departments of Govt. of India and their subordinate offices.

This year SSC CGL has come across with various changes so we are here to give the complete overview of SSC CGL exam.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam has already completed. It is expected that SSC CGL tier 2 exam will be conducted in November.

SSC CGL Application form 2016– SSC CGL Application form process was started on 13 February 2016 & it was closed on 30 March 2016. Lakhs of candidate filled the form.

What is the eligibility of SSC CGL 2016?

Candidate must have complete their graduation from authorized university in any discipline.

Age Limit – 18 to 27 years

Earlier it was decided that SSC CGL exam will be conducted on & than it is postponed to 27th August to 11 Sep.

SSC CGL hall ticket was released on 16th September.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2016

SSC CGL exam is going to conduct in four tiers1 this time

  1. Tier 1 (Preliminary Exam)
  2. Tier 2 (Mains)
  3. Tier 3 (Descriptive)
  4. Tier 4 (DEST/CPT)

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam

Important Highlights

1. This is compulsory for all.

2. SSC CGL tier 1 is conducted online.

3. There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

4. This is not only qualifying in nature; Tier 1 marks will be considered till the last.

5. After qualifying tier 1 you will be moved to SSC CGL tier 2.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam

 Important Highlights

1. SSC CGL tier 2 will be conducted online.

2. -Paper-I & II are compulsory for all the categories of posts.

3. -Paper-III is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Statistical Investigator Gr. II & Compiler.

4. Paper IV is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Assistant Audit Officer.

5. After qualifying Tier 2, you will be moved to tier 3.

6. The marks obtained by tier1 & tier 2 together will decide your eligibility in Tier 3 & Tier 4.

SSC CGL Tier 3 Exam

After the SSC CGL interview it takes months to declare the result. After the declaration of marks, SSC nominates you to the respective department in which you are allotted a service through CGL.

The respective department contact you through email. After a gap of around two weeks, you will be given a state or zone according to your preference & all your details will be transferred to that zone.

They will call you for physical test if required.

This whole process may take approximately a year to complete.
