Group Travel-Are Larger Groups Better?

You may have traveled in a group before, a group can be anything from 3 to 50 people; but is it better to travel in a large group? Maybe you're all traveling on a hen or stag do, maybe it's a school trip or even an adventurous family outing. No matter the members of your group, it seems the more of you there are the better, in many ways. There are actually several benefits to groups of 10+ people, below are just a small handful.

Keeps Costs Down-Of course traveling with more people keeps various costs down. You can all invest in a mini bus to travel to the airport, for example. Saving all of you on petrol money and is not only cost effective, but better for co2 emissions. Keeping costs down is crucial as it means more money to spend on other activities, if you spend all of your money on one single activity you won't be able to pad out your whole holiday, you'll spend half of it sat by the pool should you have one. You can also save money when it comes to booking yourselves group activities as many tourist destinations have offers for larger groups. We'll touch more on this later on in the article.

More People Means More Activities-You wouldn't think it, but the more people there are the more likely it is you will be able to do all the activities you'd like to do. Think about it, if you're a group of 3 and you are the only person who wants to go diving, the chances are you won't be able to do it due to the 2 other travelers not being up for it. A larger group means your chances of finding someone else who wants to share in the activity are much higher, giving you all a chance to do more. If you use a group booking website, you'll have the chance to discuss activities with people in your group and suggest things to do before your holiday arrives.

More Knowledge-Have you ever heard the saying "two heads are better than one"? This works just as well when it comes to group travel, a larger group means more knowledge as a whole. It's made even better if there are people in your group who have already visited a certain place or have great local knowledge. This is knowledge that can be passed on to the rest of the group, making it a more enjoyable holiday. Who knows, you could actually learn a thing or two!

Offers & Discounts-As mentioned before, big groups mean big discounts. Booking as a group online for example is a great way to save lots of money. You can book whole trips online, including activities, at a fraction of the price of booking separately. When you get there, you also get the benefit of offers for tourist groups on food, drink and activities. You can also receive certain offers for children, should you be traveling with them. Just remember to keep an eye out for flyers and leaflets in travel agents and tourist visitor information centres.

Sociability-Traveling with lots of people gives you a chance to get to know one another better. Even families that are traveling together can learn more about each other by traveling in a group, as you will likely spend time with specific people to do specific activities. Spending 2 weeks with only 2 other people can get frustrating, but with more people you're less likely to get stressed or irritated over small things a couple of people may do.
