The Health Benefits of Lavazza Coffee
For the longest time – and counting – taking coffee has been an issue of serious debate by everybody from health professionals and 9 to 5 workers to people who know absolutely nothing about coffee. However, we can all agree that coffee is one crazy drug. It can get you from that grumpy, bed headed feeling to over drive and ambition within minutes of putting a coffee mug to your lips.
Well, I am an avid coffee drinker and I happen to love it. Thankfully, science and health are on my side. One of my favorite coffee brands is Lavazza Coffee. I find that for some reason, it helps me go about my daily responsibilities with a spring in my step – more than any coffee brand I have used before (get some Lavazza Coffee from A1 Coffee). Here are a few other reasons that coffee – especially Lavazza coffee – is a no brainer.
- You will have a lower risk of having kidney stones
A cup of coffee a day keeps the stones away. Okay, seriously, a Harvard study revealed that people who consume coffee less than once a week were 26% more likely to develop kidney stones than those who had at least a serving of coffee daily.
Coffee makes you pee more often, thanks to its caffeine content, flushing out the excess calcium and sodium in the body that can contribute to the formation of kidney stone. If you must sub your coffee, do it with wine or tea, as they have been shown to also lower the kidney stone risk factor. Just make sure you do not substitute coffee for the sweet stuff (soda). Unless being 23% more likely to develop kidney stones is a statistic that does not bother you.
- Coffee can help you get rid of fat
Thanks to the caffeine content of coffee, you have a good chance of not getting obese if you have a daily coffee intake ritual. It is also an essential ingredient of almost every commercially available fat burning supplement.
A good number of studies have shown that caffeine can boost the metabolic rate by anywhere from 3% to 11% and can increase fat burning by as much as 29% in lean people and 10% in obese people.
- It helps facilitate brain function
When we drink a cup of coffee, the caffeine contained in it gets to the brain through the bloodstream. Here it blocks a neurotransmitter called adenosine that would otherwise have blocked other neurotransmitters such as dopamine and norepinephrine. This might not seem like much until you discover that these two neurotransmitters are responsible for helping you maintain a retentive memory.
Controlled human experiments have also shown that coffee intake positively affects other aspects of brain function such as mood, energy levels, awareness, reaction times and general cognitive functions.
- Coffee is loaded with nutrients
Coffee beans are chuck full of beneficial nutrients and thankfully, most of them do make it into the final coffee brew. By some measurements, a single cup of coffee contains Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), Manganese, Potassium, Magnesium, Niacin and Pantothenic Acid. These nutrients occur in volumes of 2% to 11% of the RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance).
While this may not seem like much, remember that this is all in a single cup of coffee. So if you take, say 3 to 4 cups of coffee daily, those nutrient numbers quickly begin to add up.
